The Black Book Bazaar! is a space filled with undiscovered literary treasures. We aim to increase visibility for Black authors, create a community, and share experiences to gain knowledge. The Black Book Bazaar is intentional about inspiring the next generation of Black authors through our Young Writers Workshops– a space providing writing tips, fun story prompts, publishing, and mentors. Educators and parents can also use this space for fresh ways to encourage, inspire, and support their young writers‘ creativity. We provide a diverse selection of books, comics, and graphic novels from various genres. Whether you’re a seasoned bookworm or just looking for something new to read, this event is perfect for all book lovers. Find your next favorite read at the Black Book Bazaar! Books with diverse characters serve multiple purposes for individuals who might be stereotyped or overlooked in popular culture and publishing. Some have cited books at the Black Book Bazaar as personally validating and academically engaging, seeing their life experiences reflected on the pages. Some call these books “mirrors.” because they serve as “windows” into the Black experience.
