Focus and Scope

The Global Journal of Black Studies is a progressive interdisciplinary publication dedicated to exchanging the latest knowledge and ideas about Blackness. We recognise that some individuals may prefer to use labels other than Black because labels can be oppressive. The journal publishes peer-reviewed original articles, high-quality research papers, personal essays, oral histories, interviews, focus group discussions, reviews, and poetry that tackles all areas of Black studies. The Global Journal of Black Studies is a scholarly forum and source of information for people involved in the social and behavioural sciences, the arts and humanities, political science and international relations, health and human services, and religion and spirituality. The journal provides a distinct, vital, and safe space for communication among scholars, researchers, educators, community organisers, and political activists linking scholars and work from the global north and south and highlighting the quality of articles produced from the new world.
