Manuscripts for children’s books should be at least 1,000 words and not much more than 5,000 words in length. Children’s picture books should be up to 10,000 words in length.
Manuscripts for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 0-5 years should be less than 1,000 words. These books average 36 pages with lots of colour illustrations usually on every page. These may include but are not limited to board books or novelty books with pop-ups, flaps to lift, textures, or buttons for sound.
Manuscripts for KS1 5-7 years should be at least 1,000 words and not much more than 5,000 words in length. These books average 36 pages with colour illustrations usually on every page. These books may include but are not limited to fiction, concept, activity, and novelty picture books.
Manuscripts for chapter Books 6-9 years should be at least 5,000 words and not much more than 15,000 words in length. These books may be short in a series with a higher. These books may contain sketches and illustrations.
Manuscripts for KS2 7-11 years or young readers 9-12 years should be at least 15,000 and not much more than 40,000 words. These books may have fewer or no illustrations.
Manuscripts for young adults should be at least 50,000 and not much more than 80,000 words. Adult books can be any length.
Submit the first four chapters (for chapter books) and author biography in PDF or Word format to wasukp@outlook.com. Responses will be sent within 3 months after submission. Selected authors will receive competitive royalties, and extensive marketing for their book.
